UniWand

The UniWand project investigated a game controller design for ’Robot Unicorn Attack’, which is an ’Endless Runner’-game. ‘Endless Runner’ games lack certain aspects that make them enjoyable and entertaining in a social setting. The UniWand design was inspired by findings from a focus group interview conducted with target users. The prototype development was an example of a fast-paced iterative design process, where I worked with only one design partner. The final design makes use of gesture-based interaction, as opposed to traditional button input. This type of interaction makes the game more entertaining, not only for the player, but also for the spectators in a social context.
